Career Ready: Mastering the Art of Resume Writing

The seminar entitled “Career Talk: Crafting Winning Resumes” was successfully conducted on April 27, 2026, at PTC-Davao as part of the center’s continuing effort to prepare trainees for future employment opportunities. The activity equipped participants with practical knowledge and essential skills in developing professional, organized, and competitive resumes that meet industry standards and employer expectations.

The session was facilitated by Jonathan D. Samillano, Vocational Instruction Supervisor and CGAP Focal, together with Kathleen Rose D. Dionio, Technical Staff, who shared valuable insights and practical guidance on effective resume writing and employment preparation. Discussions emphasized the importance of creating a strong first impression through a well-crafted resume, including proper formatting, accurate presentation of personal information, educational background, technical skills, trainings, and relevant experiences. Participants were also guided on how to tailor their resumes according to specific job opportunities to improve their employability.

To further enhance learning, practical examples, demonstrations, and hands-on workshop activities were conducted, allowing trainees to apply the concepts discussed during the seminar. Participants actively engaged in the activity and successfully prepared their own resumes for submission, strengthening their confidence and readiness for employment opportunities.

PTC-Davao Launches New Scholarship Opportunity: TM I COC II for DepEd TVL Track Teachers

The TESDA Provincial Training Center – Davao is once again opening its doors to DepEd TVL Track Teachers who aspire to become TESDA-accredited assessors in their chosen qualifications. Interested applicants may scan the QR code to register.

Please note that only ten (10) TVL Track Teachers will be accepted for this skills training, on a first-come, first-served basis. The training will run for five (5) days.

United for a Greener Tomorrow: PTC–Davao’s Earth Month Clean-Up Drive in Action

The Provincial Training Center – Davao successfully conducted a Clean-Up Drive on April 23, 2026, within its premises in celebration of Earth Month and in support of the Green TVET Program. The initiative underscored the center’s commitment to environmental stewardship while fostering a culture of shared responsibility among personnel and trainees.

The activity brought together participants in a unified effort to uphold cleanliness, safety, and order across the facility. Teams were strategically assigned to designated areas, where they carried out comprehensive cleaning of classrooms, workshops, offices, and common spaces. Tasks included sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing tools and materials to ensure an efficient and conducive learning environment.

Beyond indoor spaces, participants extended their efforts to the surrounding grounds by collecting scattered waste such as plastics, dried leaves, and other debris. Proper waste management practices were strictly observed through the segregation of materials into biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable categories, reinforcing sustainable habits within the community.

Additionally, drainage canals and pathways were cleared of obstructions to enhance safety and mitigate potential flooding risks. Weeding and basic landscaping activities were also undertaken to maintain the center’s aesthetic appeal and overall environmental quality.

More than a routine clean-up, the activity served as a meaningful platform to cultivate teamwork, discipline, and heightened environmental awareness. PTC - DAVAO CULMINATES WOMEN'S MONTH THRU DURIAN SEEDS CHIPS PROCESSING

The Provincial Training Center – Davao successfully conducted the Culmination Activity of the Women’s Month Celebration on March 31, 2026, at Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok District, Davao City. The institution meaningfully carried out the activity by providing skills training in Pastry-Making and Durian Seeds Chips Processing, with the primary objective of enhancing the participants’ knowledge and competencies in food processing and entrepreneurship. This initiative created a valuable platform for women and community members to acquire practical, income-generating skills to support their livelihoods and promote economic empowerment.

The activity was made possible through a collaborative partnership with the City Agriculturist’s Office of Davao City, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Barangay Tacunan, the Women’s Rural Improvement Club (RIC), and the Solo Parents Association of Tacunan. The strong coordination and shared commitment among these stakeholders contributed significantly to the seamless implementation and overall success of the training.

The program featured comprehensive, hands-on demonstrations and guided learning sessions facilitated by the invited resource persons, Ms. Fe G. Oguio, Acting Municipal Agriculturist Officer in Tugbok District, and Ms. Jemelyn L. Balili, Agriculturist Technician and MAFC Tugbok District Focal Person. They provided in-depth discussions and practical guidance on innovative processing of durian seeds into chips, emphasizing product quality, safety, and market potential.

Participants showed active involvement throughout the training, displaying enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. The activity not only enhanced their technical skills but also encouraged them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities utilizing locally available resources. Furthermore, it promoted sustainability and resourcefulness by transforming durian seeds—commonly regarded as waste—into a value-added product with economic potential.

Mr. Jonathan D. Samillano, GAD Focal Person and Vocational Instruction Supervisor of PTC - Davao, expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with the successful conduct of the activity. He underscored the importance of applying the acquired skills toward sustainable livelihood initiatives. He expressed optimism that the Women’s Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and the Solo Parents Association of Tacunan will venture into this promising business opportunity, particularly given the abundant availability of durian seeds in the locality.

The activity effectively achieved its objectives of empowering women and community members by equipping them with relevant, market-driven skills in food processing and entrepreneurship. It likewise strengthened inter-agency collaboration and reinforced the commitment to support similar community-based initiatives in the future.
