EIM NC II Graduates Participate in Supervised Industry Learning at JFS Electrical Corporation

PTC-Davao recently piloted the implementation of the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program for EIM NC II graduates in partnership with JFS Electrical Corporation. The initiative aimed to provide students with practical experience and industry exposure, equipping them with the necessary skills to prosper in the electrical industry.

On January 7, 2025, the pre-deployment program was conducted for the interested trainees. Jonathan D. Samillano, Vocational Instruction Supervisor - Designate and Industry Coordinator, along with Alexis C. Perez, EIM Trainer, led the session. The primary goal was to provide the trainees with an overview of the SIL program, including its objectives and the significance of practical experience in their academic and professional growth. The session also focused on instilling the importance of proper workplace behavior, such as punctuality, teamwork, and professionalism. The session also stressed safety protocols so trainees understood essential workplace safety standards.

On January 9, 2025, the trainees, accompanied by their trainer and industry coordinator, visited JFS Electrical Corporation for a briefing on company policies and the compensation structure. During the visit, Engr. Wendell Momville, a representative from JFS Electrical Corporation, provided the trainees with an in-depth discussion about the company’s work regulations. He detailed the expectations in terms of behavior, work hours, and performance. Additionally, he explained the compensation plan for the learners participating in the SIL program, ensuring transparency regarding their roles, responsibilities, and the rewards for their contributions during the learning period. He also added that after their SIL program, they can hire them as regular employees, depending on their performance and evaluation.

On February 13, 2025, a site visit was organized to further enhance the learning experience. Ellan James B. Solano, the Manager of JFS Electrical Corporation, guided the PTC–Davao Personnel through one of the company's active job sites. This visit provided them with the opportunity to observe the learners’ performance during the SIL. Engr. Solano shared insights into the day-to-day operations of the company.

The activities conducted throughout the SIL program—ranging from the pre-deployment briefing to the company policy discussions and the site visit—provided valuable learning opportunities for the trainees and PTC–Davao personnel. These experiences allowed them to better understand the practical aspects of working in the electrical industry, preparing them for a successful career ahead. PTC-Davao looks forward to expanding the SIL program and providing more opportunities for future trainees to gain hands-on industry experience.
